## Summary

Agility Robotics announced a collaboration with Nyobolt to develop an ultra-fast-charging battery system for its Digit 5 humanoid robot. The new system claims to enable over 20 hours of daily operation, with a 90-minute runtime and a nine-minute charge time—improving upon Digit 4’s 2:1 run-to-charge ratio. Daniel Diez, Agility’s chief business officer, emphasized that uptime directly impacts customer value, particularly for warehouse and manufacturing deployments where reliability is critical.

Nyobolt, a U.K.-based battery tech firm, highlights its proprietary anode materials and fast-charging capabilities as key to reducing downtime. The partnership follows Agility’s recent Digit 5 release, which includes new legs and explores wheeled locomotion. Early access to Digit 5 with Nyobolt’s battery is expected in the first half of 2027, with broader availability over the following six to nine months. Agility also announced plans to go public via a SPAC merger and expand its software hub in California.

## Key points

- Agility partners with Nyobolt for Digit 5’s ultra-fast-charging battery system, enabling >20 hours/day runtime
- Nyobolt’s tech delivers 90-minute runtime and 9-minute charge, improving Digit 4’s 2:1 ratio to 10:1
- Early Digit 5 access with Nyobolt’s battery starts in Q1 2027, full rollout in 6–9 months

## Why it matters

Faster-charging humanoid robots reduce downtime and lower operational costs for warehouses and factories.
