Experts Weigh In: Can Mark Cuban's AI Bootcamps Build Wealth Through ChatGPT?

bing.com · 8 September 2026

Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping how we communicate and work, and Mark Cuban wants to help ensure young people aren't left behind.

To prepare high school students for the future, the billionaire launched AI bootcamps that teach practical AI skills.

Cuban built much of his estimated $6 billion fortune by investing in technology ventures, and today's AI boom has many people wondering whether tools like ChatGPT can also help them build wealth. Here's what experts say.

Rely on Your Talent

ChatGPT isn't meant to do the work for you. Instead, it enhances your skills and creativity, Cuban has said.

"AI is never the answer; AI is the tool," Cuban said during a 2025 SXSW panel. While AI can write scripts and edit videos, it can't discern what is a good or bad story, he noted, so "you need to be creative. Whatever skills you have, AI can amplify them." AI expert Dr. A.K. Pradeep, CEO and founder of Sensori.ai, agrees that using ChatGPT to build wealth is not a get-rich-quick strategy. "AI will help you learn skills, perform jobs faster, find jobs, opportunities and gigs and enable you to become an entrepreneur fast or perform diagnostics and thoughtful strategic growth of your current business," he said. "This is how AI will enable you to realize your dreams."

How To Boost Your Income with ChatGPT

AI isn't a shortcut to wealth, but it can help freelancers and other knowledge workers increase their earning potential, according to Jacob Bayer, CFP and founder of Jacob Bayer Wealth Management. "I see those who are truly benefiting from using AI to earn more money as freelancers who already have side hustles doing the same work as before — but now they're doing more of it with faster proposals, stronger deliverables and higher-quality marketing copy," Bayer said. "The biggest money-making advantage today is to do your existing paid work 30% faster."

Don't Expect Overnight Riches

AI can speed up efficiency, but experts warn that a quick payout likely won't happen.

"If you have something that is worth its salt and are coming from zero, then you need to give it at least 12-18 months to really bring something to fruition," said Jozef Gherman, the founder and CEO of XYZ AI and its flagship service, StealthGPT. Gherman also said early success can fade quickly unless users identify problems, adapt and keep improving.

The Biggest AI Money Myths

There's a lot of misunderstandings swirling around AI, like it's a "money printing machine" and it's not, Gherman said. "It has probably the highest ROI potential for a complete newbie more so than any other technology in history, but that doesn't mean you can type a few prompts and a check comes in the mail."
