## Summary

Apple introduced HomeView, a $299 7‑inch smart‑home hub that combines a display, speaker, FaceTime, Siri AI, and a camera. Preorders began on Oct 13 for the United States, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, with shipments slated for Nov 13. The device can be placed on a tabletop or wall‑mounted, but it is not sold in the European Union because Siri AI is unavailable on iOS there.

HomeView recognizes up to six household members, showing personalized content for each. Siri can answer questions, control compatible smart‑home devices, and pull personal data from a paired iPhone. The built‑in camera can show up to nine feeds at once, letting owners monitor storefronts, delivery areas, or workshops. Advanced camera features and some Siri capabilities require an eligible iCloud+ subscription and are limited to English in the listed countries. Apple notes that the system uses on‑device processing or Private Cloud Compute to keep personal information private, but businesses must still set policies for camera and microphone use.

## Key points

- Apple HomeView costs $299 in the U.S., available for tabletop or wall‑mount, with preorders starting Oct 13.
- Device recognizes up to six users, shows personalized content, and can display up to nine camera feeds simultaneously.
- Advanced features need compatible Apple hardware, iCloud+ subscription, and are limited to English in select countries.

## Why it matters

The HomeView bundles a display, voice assistant, and security camera hub at a consumer price, giving small businesses a single device for scheduling, hands‑free control, and monitoring, potentially reducing the need for multiple tablets or computers.
