## Summary

Apple previewed **HomeView**, a square smart display designed for home control, hands-free FaceTime calls, and Siri AI integration. The device supports up to six users with personalized interfaces based on facial recognition. It operates within Apple’s closed ecosystem, requiring iPhones and other Apple devices for full functionality.

The demo highlights a seamless, iPhone-like experience, blending voice control with visual recognition. Apple did not disclose release plans, pricing, or availability details, focusing instead on the concept’s integration with existing Apple services. The device’s closed nature limits compatibility with non-Apple products.

## Key points

- HomeView demo shows a square screen with Siri AI, hands-free FaceTime, and personalized facial recognition for up to six users
- Device operates within Apple’s closed ecosystem, requiring iPhones and other Apple devices for full functionality
- No release date, pricing, or availability details provided—only a conceptual demo

## Why it matters

If launched, HomeView could expand Apple’s dominance in smart home tech by tying Siri and facial recognition into a hardware device, but its closed ecosystem may limit adoption outside Apple’s user base.
