## Summary

AT&T’s Connected Life system now integrates with Google’s Gemini for Home, marking the first home security product to support Gemini-powered features. Users on the professional monitoring plan—priced at **$29.99 per month**—can now ask natural language questions to search recorded video, like *“What dug up the yard last night?”* or *“Who let the dogs out?”* The system also generates daily summaries of home activity and provides detailed descriptions of events captured by security cameras, such as package deliveries and item counts. AT&T launched Connected Life in December 2025 in partnership with Google and Abode, and the update leverages Google’s Gemini-powered Home APIs to embed AI features into smart devices. ADT has also expressed interest in similar integrations.

## Key points

- AT&T’s Connected Life integrates Gemini for Home for video search and event summaries via natural language queries
- Features require AT&T’s professional monitoring plan at **$29.99/month**, including daily activity summaries and camera event descriptions
- Google’s Gemini Home APIs enable smart home brands like AT&T and Abode to build AI-powered security features

## Why it matters

The integration expands AI-driven smart home security beyond voice assistants, letting users query video footage and track activity without manual review. It could set a precedent for competitors like ADT to adopt similar AI tools, shifting how homeowners monitor security.
