The glasses feature a **microOLED display**, **14-hour battery life**, and an **Ethos-U55 NPU** for local AI processing. The **Noa assistant** retains context across interactions, while the **Make** feature lets users voice-create shareable miniapps without coding. Narrative, the adaptive game, evolves based on real-world actions, though its long-term coherence remains untested.\n\nThe glasses include **local processing** for privacy-sensitive tasks but rely on **cloud AI** for conversation and image understanding, with encrypted cloud storage for transcripts. Brilliant Labs offers open firmware and SDKs for developers, though licensing varies. Optional **Noa Plus ($9.99/month)** and **Noa Pro ($39.99/month)** tiers unlock advanced features. The launch follows undisclosed funding from **Goodwater Capital** and **Brendan Iribe**, positioning Halo as a test case for wearable AI integration into daily life.","keyPoints":["Halo smartglasses ship now at **$399**, with **14-hour battery life** and **Ethos-U55 NPU** for local AI tasks","Noa assistant retains context across interactions, while **Narrative** is an adaptive game tied to real-world actions","**Noa Plus ($9.99/month)** and **Noa Pro ($39.99/month)** unlock premium features, with cloud-based AI handling some tasks"],"whyItMatters":"Halo blends persistent AI memory, voice-driven app creation, and adaptive gaming into a $400 wearable, testing whether wearables can replace smartphones for niche tasks.
