## Summary

Discord is expanding how public conversations appear in search engines. Starting November 16, summaries of public-channel discussions will show on Server Web Pages for Discoverable Servers—those with at least 1,000 members and eight weeks old. Over 63,000 such servers exist, and Discord will auto-generate missing pages for them.

From mid-December, individual messages from participating public channels will also appear on these pages, visible in Google or other search results. Members can opt out via *User Settings Data & Privacy*, though summaries remain under admin control. Regional defaults vary: sharing is off by default in the EU/EEA, UK, Canada, Brazil, Australia, and South Korea due to legal restrictions.

## Key points

- AI-generated Channel Summaries appear on Server Web Pages starting November 16 for over 63,000 public servers
- Individual messages from public channels will gradually appear on these pages from mid-December, searchable via Google
- Members can opt out of message visibility but cannot remove already-published posts without deleting the original

## Why it matters

This makes public Discord discussions more discoverable via search, potentially boosting engagement for communities. However, privacy concerns may arise as members’ messages become publicly indexed by default in most regions.
