The option appears when right‑clicking a server or channel icon on the sidebar. Google has recently added similar Markdown editing capabilities to Docs, letting users edit .md files without conversion.\n\nBetter previews could reduce confusion when sharing READMEs, prompts or project documentation on Discord, making the platform a more convenient hub for AI‑related community discussions. Teams that rely on quick copy‑paste of prompts can verify formatting before sharing.","keyPoints":["Discord’s update lets uploaded .md files display formatted previews instead of symbols.","New “Move to…” right‑click option lets users reorganise servers and channels."],"whyItMatters":"Accurate Markdown previews make it easier for developers and AI agents to share and read documentation on Discord, improving collaboration and reducing errors.","category":{"slug":"agents","name":"Agents & Tools","url":"https://digestai.news/category/agents"},"entities":{"companies":["Discord","Google"],"models":[],"people":[]},"firstPublishedAt":"2026-10-22T18:58:19Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-22T18:58:19Z","sourceCount":1,"hasPrimarySource":false,"sources":[{"outlet":"The Verge AI","title":"Discord now formats Markdown previews right","url":"https://theverge.com/news/1017012/discord-markdown-previews-organize-servers-channels","publishedAt":"2026-10-22T18:58:19Z","type":"press","primary":false,"lead":true}],"sourceNotes":null,"discussions":[],"thread":null,"cite":{"text":"Digest AI, \"Discord says its update now renders Markdown previews correctly\", 22 October 2026, https://digestai.news/story/discord-says-its-update-now-renders-markdown-previews-correctly","publisher":"Digest AI","title":"Discord says its update now renders Markdown previews correctly","datePublished":"2026-10-22T18:58:19Z","url":"https://digestai.news/story/discord-says-its-update-now-renders-markdown-previews-correctly"},"generatedBy":"Written by Digest AI's editorial model from the linked sources; the sources are the record.","license":"Headlines, digests and key points are written by Digest AI and may be quoted with a link to the story page.
