## Summary

The refresh follows a company-wide push into AI-assisted development, with CEO Tim Sweeney announcing a ‘huge pivot’ to integrate AI across teams. Sweeney emphasized that the goal is not cost-cutting but to enable developers to build ‘MORE and BETTER stuff’ using Unreal Engine.

Epic Games VP Martin Keely stated AI played a key role in replicating core launcher functionality, accelerating development, and enabling Linux compatibility. While Bloomberg reported an unannounced Disney project team was told ‘no more hand-written code’ would be allowed, Keely clarified that the launcher team still supervised AI agents for code writing and review. The new launcher preview is available on Windows, Mac, and Linux, with a full launch planned once stability and parity with the current version are confirmed. Epic also announced plans to bring *Fortnite* to Linux via the launcher.
