## Summary

Twelve years after debuting the IO chatbot at TechCrunch Disrupt, founder Eugenia Kuyda released wabi 2.0, a free multiplayer AI assistant that works as a messenger app. The platform lets users run multiple dedicated threads—personal, family, or partner chats—and automatically creates custom apps when linked to email, calendar or other data sources. Examples shown include a weight‑loss tracker, a live‑music finder and a shared event list.

Wabi’s design emphasizes shared, group‑chat experiences, letting participants see each other’s requests and data within a thread. The service is SOC 2 compliant, stores most user data in the United States, and runs entirely in the cloud. The company previously announced a $20 million pre‑seed round but has not yet defined a revenue model and is reportedly seeking additional funding.

## Key points

- Wabi 2.0 launches as a free multiplayer AI assistant messenger with multi‑threaded, shared chats.
- The platform auto‑creates custom apps (e.g., weight‑loss tracker, event finder) when linked to email or calendar.
- Wabi is SOC 2 compliant, stores most data in the U.S., and previously raised a $20 million pre‑seed round.

## Why it matters

A free, multi‑threaded AI assistant that auto‑builds personal apps could change how individuals coordinate tasks and share information, pushing the market toward collaborative AI platforms.
