## Summary

Google announced that its AI‑powered "Fill with Gemini" feature in Google Sheets now attaches the exact web source for each generated cell value. The cell‑level citation appears directly inside the spreadsheet, letting users audit, verify, and cross‑reference AI‑generated data without leaving the sheet.

The update also includes faster processing, with internal testing showing up to 55 times quicker performance than manual entry on a 500‑cell task, and the ability to handle requests of up to 3,000 cells at once. These changes aim to improve consistency across cells and let users summarize, categorize, and process larger data sets in a single prompt.

The speed figures come from a 95‑participant internal study that compared manual entry to Fill with Gemini using English prompts for English‑language users. No pricing changes were mentioned, and the feature is available to Google Workspace users on the web.

- Fill with Gemini now shows the web source for each cell’s AI‑generated value
- Processing up to 55 times faster than manual entry on 500‑cell tasks, per internal study
