## Summary

Google announced that meeting recaps will now appear in Google Chat for any conversation where the “Take notes for me” option is active in Google Meet. The AI‑generated recap includes a high‑level summary, direct links to the Gemini notes document, recording and transcript, key decisions and assigned action items. Recap cards are posted silently in the meeting’s Chat space, can be deleted by any participant, and remain stored in Drive as the original notes document.

The feature rolls out gradually: Rapid Release domains began receiving it on October 16, 2026, with a visibility window of up to 15 days, while Scheduled Release domains start on October 27, 2026 under the same timeline. It is enabled by default for organizations that have Gemini for Google Workspace turned on and respects existing “Take notes for me” and Gemini admin policies. No end‑user setting is required; the recap appears automatically after the call ends.

Admins can manage the feature through the Google Workspace admin console, and the rollout applies to Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus and Frontline Plus editions.

## Key points

- Recap cards show summary, decisions, action items and artifact links after a Meet call
- Feature rolls out from Oct 16 (Rapid Release) and Oct 27 (Scheduled Release) with up to 15‑day visibility
- Enabled by default for organizations with Gemini for Google Workspace; no end‑user toggle needed

## Why it matters

AI‑generated meeting recaps streamline post‑call follow‑up, helping teams act faster and reducing the need to hunt for recordings or transcripts.
