## Summary

Google Japan announced the "Google AI Challenge" contest, running from October 19 to November 30, 2026. The competition invites individuals and groups who regularly use Google AI tools – such as Gemini, Gemini Canvas, Gemini Notebook, Google AI Studio, and Google Apps Script – to submit ideas and deliverables that address everyday, work‑related, or societal problems. Up to 25 entries will receive three months of Google AI Pro for free, while the Grand Prix winner gets a U.S. event invitation, a commemorative gift, and a ¥100,000 gift card. Each of the three category awards (Life & Family, Work & Learning, Society & Planet) also includes a ¥100,000 gift card, and five Judges’ Special Awards grant ¥50,000 gift cards.

The contest highlights past participant projects, such as Shoto’s two‑hour meal‑management app built with Gemini pair‑programming, and Hottarita’s children‑focused news‑generation tool using React, Gemini, and Google Sheets. Submissions must include an entry form, a 90‑second demo video showing Google AI in action, and optionally a URL to the deliverable. Judging will focus on originality, societal impact, effective AI use, and scalability, without weighting the level of completion or whether the free or paid AI version was used.
