## Summary

Google has introduced Expert Intelligence, a cross-company initiative that lets users integrate trusted sources directly into Google AI products. The feature debuts in Gemini Notebook, allowing employees and students to incorporate insights from more than 100,000 books from major publishers. Users can add compatible ebooks purchased from Google Play Books to a notebook and ask questions grounded in the text.

In addition to answering questions, Gemini Notebook can generate infographics, audio overviews, and quizzes from the book content. Users can also combine these books with their own uploaded files, such as class syllabi or lecture notes. To interact with an ebook in a shared notebook, all recipients must have purchased an eligible copy of the book.

## Key points

- Users can add compatible Google Play Books directly to Gemini Notebook as sources
- The feature supports over 100,000 books from major publishers at launch
- Collaborators in shared notebooks must each purchase the ebook to interact with it

## Why it matters

This integration allows students and professionals to ground AI analysis and study tools in copyrighted, authoritative texts rather than relying solely on web data.
