Pro-model selection remains available to Google AI Pro subscribers and higher-tier users, who pay $19.99/month compared to $4.99 for Plus. The change follows an earlier delayed rollout date of October 9, 2026, and affects only model selection, not subscription tiers or other features like usage limits or storage.","keyPoints":["Google AI Plus subscribers lose Pro-model selection on November 13, 2026, but Flash/Flash-Lite remain available","Existing Pro-model chats continue with unspecified replacements; no new model specified for transitions","Google AI Pro ($19.99/month) retains Pro-model access, raising cost by $15 over Google AI Plus ($4.99/month)"],"whyItMatters":"The move forces Plus subscribers to choose between downgrading model access or upgrading to a pricier tier, potentially shifting demand toward higher-tier plans with more features.","category":{"slug":"marketing","name":"Marketing & Small Business","url":"https://digestai.news/category/marketing"},"entities":{"companies":["Google","Google One","Droid Life","ProPakistani"],"models":["Flash","Flash-Lite","Pro"],"people":[]},"firstPublishedAt":"2026-10-16T20:27:00Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-16T20:27:00Z","sourceCount":1,"hasPrimarySource":false,"sources":[{"outlet":"propakistani.pk","title":"Google AI Plus to Be Severely Downgraded After November 13","url":"https://propakistani.pk/2026/10/17/google-ai-plus-to-be-severely-downgraded-after-november-13","publishedAt":"2026-10-16T20:27:00Z","type":"press","primary":false,"lead":true}],"sourceNotes":null,"discussions":[],"thread":{"title":"Google Gemini Access Saga Update","url":"https://digestai.news/thread/google-ai-plus-loses-gemini-pro-access-in-october","storyCount":6},"cite":{"text":"Digest AI, \"Google restricts Pro AI models in Google AI Plus after November 13\", 16 October 2026, https://digestai.news/story/google-restricts-pro-ai-models-in-google-ai-plus-after-november-13","publisher":"Digest AI","title":"Google restricts Pro AI models in Google AI Plus after November 13","datePublished":"2026-10-16T20:27:00Z","url":"https://digestai.news/story/google-restricts-pro-ai-models-in-google-ai-plus-after-november-13"},"generatedBy":"Written by Digest AI's editorial model from the linked sources; the sources are the record.","license":"Headlines, digests and key points are written by Digest AI and may be quoted with a link to the story page.
