## Summary

HUMXN, an AI lab, is launching a program in Minneapolis, Chicago, and Miami that will subsidize plumbing, electrical, HVAC, air‑duct cleaning, and carpet cleaning for homeowners. In return, the lab will use wearable capture technology to record technicians performing the work, creating data to train AI robots.

Founder Thomas Unise said the lab wants to build infrastructure that lets homeowners and service companies benefit financially from the expertise of skilled workers. The company will pay residents for the right to record on their premises, while ensuring technicians get paid.

The initiative follows accusations that other AI labs, including Meta, Nvidia, and OpenAI, have used scraped data. HUMXN says the next generation of AI will need real‑world data beyond text and images. Jowi Morales, a tech enthusiast, has written about the program.

## Key points

- HUMXN will subsidize plumbing, electrical, HVAC, air‑duct cleaning, and carpet cleaning in Minneapolis, Chicago, and Miami.
- The lab will capture technicians’ work with wearable tech to train AI robots, paying homeowners for data rights.
- The program follows criticism that other AI labs have used scraped data; HUMXN claims real‑world data is needed for next‑gen AI.

## Why it matters

By paying homeowners for data, HUMXN creates a new model for collecting real‑world training data that could accelerate the development of AI robots capable of performing skilled home‑service tasks. The program also signals a shift toward ethical data collection practices in the AI industry.
