## Summary

Meta has launched **Style Sketch**, an AI-powered fashion app that helps users create outfit ideas from their existing wardrobe. The app pulls clothes from Instagram photos or lets users manually upload images, then suggests combinations tailored to their style. Users can preview outfits on a virtual model matched to their body shape and skin tone. It also plans outfits for trips based on destination, weather, and activities—though only available in Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand for now on iOS and Android.

The app joins Meta’s recent wave of AI-driven releases, including *Waddle World* (a Tamagotchi-style app) and *Pocket* (for game vibe-coding). While competitors like Alta and Google Photos offer similar features, Meta’s integration with Instagram—where users already share style references—could give it an edge. The company did not confirm wider rollouts or future plans.

## Key points

- Style Sketch uses Instagram photos or manual uploads to build a virtual wardrobe and suggest outfit combos
- App includes trip planning with weather-aware daily outfit recommendations, but only in three Southeast Asian markets
- Part of Meta’s broader push to release more AI apps, following *Waddle World* and *Pocket* in recent months

## Why it matters

For consumers, Style Sketch offers a seamless way to repurpose existing clothes with AI, leveraging Instagram’s social data. For Meta, it tests how AI can drive engagement beyond ads, though competition from Google and startups like Alta remains strong.
