Wang, who previously founded AI data startup Scale AI, initially found Zuckerberg’s detailed and rapid responses on WhatsApp puzzling. Over time, he realized Zuckerberg’s ability to write precise, rigorous responses quickly—without sacrificing quality—sets him apart as an unusually efficient communicator.\n\nWang’s relationship with Zuckerberg began in 2021–2022, when Meta’s interest in AI intensified. Their collaboration deepened in April 2025, when Zuckerberg invited Wang to discuss Meta’s AI strategy at his homes in Lake Tahoe and Palo Alto. Wang’s insights reportedly influenced Zuckerberg’s decisions, as the CEO cited his views in discussions with advisers. Wang also noted Zuckerberg’s strict prioritization of time, balancing leadership demands with family life.","keyPoints":["Wang calls Zuckerberg’s rapid, precise writing an ‘impressive’ communication skill","Meta hired Wang in 2025 to accelerate its AI efforts after falling behind rivals","Zuckerberg reportedly values Wang’s judgment and cites his views to advisers"],"whyItMatters":"Wang’s praise highlights how Zuckerberg’s leadership style blends technical depth with operational efficiency—a rare trait in AI-driven tech CEOs.","category":{"slug":"society","name":"Society & Work","url":"https://digestai.news/category/society"},"entities":{"companies":["Meta","Scale AI"],"models":[],"people":["Alexandr Wang","Mark Zuckerberg","Alex Schultz"]},"firstPublishedAt":"2026-10-13T08:01:00Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-13T19:35:00Z","sourceCount":2,"hasPrimarySource":false,"sources":[{"outlet":"finance.yahoo.com","title":"Meta’s 29-Year-Old AI Chief Says Mark Zuckerberg Has an Unexpected But ‘Very Impressive’ Skill","url":"https://finance.yahoo.com/technology/ai/articles/meta-29-old-ai-chief-150227803.html","publishedAt":"2026-10-13T08:01:00Z","type":"press","primary":false,"lead":true},{"outlet":"timesofindia.indiatimes.com","title":"Meta Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang reveals Mark Zuckerberg’s surprising WhatsApp habit","url":"https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/etimes/trending/meta-chief-ai-officer-alexandr-wang-reveals-mark-zuckerbergs-surprising-whatsapp-habit/articleshow/134930321.cms","publishedAt":"2026-10-13T19:35:00Z","type":"press","primary":false,"lead":false}],"sourceNotes":null,"discussions":[],"thread":{"title":"Meta Appoints Young AI Chief Alexandr Wang","url":"https://digestai.news/thread/meta-profiles-alexandr-wang-as-its-first-gen-z-senior-ai-executive","storyCount":2},"cite":{"text":"Digest AI, \"Meta’s 29-year-old AI chief praises Zuckerberg’s ‘impressive’ communication skill\", 13 October 2026, https://digestai.news/story/metas-29-year-old-ai-chief-praises-zuckerbergs-impressive-communicatio","publisher":"Digest AI","title":"Meta’s 29-year-old AI chief praises Zuckerberg’s ‘impressive’ communication skill","datePublished":"2026-10-13T08:01:00Z","url":"https://digestai.news/story/metas-29-year-old-ai-chief-praises-zuckerbergs-impressive-communicatio"},"generatedBy":"Written by Digest AI's editorial model from the linked sources; the sources are the record.","license":"Headlines, digests and key points are written by Digest AI and may be quoted with a link to the story page.
