After setup, users ask Muse to find items by brand, price, or availability. The agent then suggests listings within the Muse app or redirects to the retailer’s site. At checkout, Muse preps the order and displays an approval card for final confirmation. Users must provide email, name, and address if not already saved, and payments go through Meta’s tech partners like Link by Stripe or Shopify Shop Pay. Meta takes a small fee on transactions, as CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced at Meta Connect.\n\nAmazon has blocked Muse from purchasing on its site, citing alleged credential storage and data scraping violations. Retailers like Walmart and Ticketmaster have partnered with Muse, but not all connectors are active yet. Concerns about AI-driven pricing and Meta’s data history persist, though the agent’s step-by-step design aims to build user trust. A Morning Consult survey found 59% of U.S. adults worry about AI-driven price-gouging, while Meta’s Muse ranks as the top free app on the Apple App Store.","keyPoints":["Muse lets users browse and check out via agent on partner sites like Walmart, Gap, and Sephora","Payments go through Meta’s tech partners (Link by Stripe, Shopify Shop Pay), with Meta taking a small fee","Amazon blocked Muse, citing alleged credential storage and data scraping violations"],"whyItMatters":"Muse’s shopping agent could reshape e-commerce competition by consolidating retailer relationships under one platform, but trust issues and data concerns remain barriers.","category":{"slug":"agents","name":"Agents & Tools","url":"https://digestai.news/category/agents"},"entities":{"companies":["Meta","Walmart","Gap","Sephora","Expedia","Wayfair"],"models":["Muse"],"people":["Mark Zuckerberg","Luca Cian"]},"firstPublishedAt":"2026-10-03T12:00:01Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-03T12:00:01Z","sourceCount":1,"hasPrimarySource":false,"sources":[{"outlet":"CNBC Technology","title":"Meta's Muse can shop and check out for you.
