## Summary

A side hustler tested Microsoft Copilot for a month, finding it cut drafting time by **50–60%** in Word, **70–80%** in Excel for visuals, and **50–75%** in PowerPoint. The tool integrates AI into Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, eliminating the need to switch between tools. For **3,000 yen/month** (Copilot Pro), the user estimated **14 hours saved monthly**, translating to a **18% revenue increase** (from 78,000 yen to 92,000 yen) due to more output. However, Copilot’s generic outputs require manual refinement—**70% satisfaction**—and lacks depth for advanced analysis or creative tasks. The author recommends it for **data visualization, routine emails, and presentation templates**, but warns against over-reliance for strategic or confidential work. Existing Microsoft 365 users benefit most, as Copilot requires a **Copilot Pro subscription** (3,000 yen/month) or a business pack, excluding free-tier users like Google Workspace subscribers.

## Key points

- Copilot cut drafting time by **50–80%** in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for side hustler’s tasks, saving **14 hours/month**
- Revenue rose **18%** (78,000 to 92,000 yen) due to increased output, though Copilot’s generic outputs need manual tweaks
- Requires **Microsoft 365 + Copilot Pro (3,000 yen/month)**; free-tier users like Google Workspace lack access

## Why it matters

For side hustlers and small businesses using Microsoft 365, Copilot’s seamless integration into Word/Excel/PowerPoint cuts repetitive tasks without learning new tools. The **time savings (14+ hours/month)** justify the cost for those earning **30,000+ yen/month**, but generic outputs limit its use for creative or strategic work.
