## Summary

The New York State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA) renewed its partnership with Intuition Robotics in late October, extending ElliQ’s availability to more seniors in the state. The new three-year agreement, worth $2.1 million, builds on three years of collaboration, with ElliQ already showing measurable benefits for loneliness and wellbeing among older adults.

ElliQ, an AI-powered companion robot, has helped hundreds of New Yorkers since its 2022 launch. In 2026, program data showed 92% of users found it useful, with daily interactions rising to 48 from 29. Users reported reduced loneliness (94%), improved wellbeing (97%), and greater independence. NYSOFA cites a 2018 AARP-CMS report linking loneliness to higher Medicare costs ($7B annually) and worsened chronic conditions. Intuition Robotics, based in Israel, also partners with states like Wisconsin, Florida, and Washington, where ElliQ targets Medicaid recipients.
