## Summary

The author compares Google’s One AI Pro plan, which costs $20 a month and provides 5 TB of cloud storage, with the lower‑priced AI Plus tier that offers 2 TB. Recent changes to the One plans added the Spark‑now‑Task agentic model and the newer Flash 3.8 engine to Pro, while Plus lost the Flash Pro model (replaced by the older Flash) and will no longer receive Task after November.

In hands‑on tests the author saw only minor quality differences between the Flash model on Plus and the newer Flash 3.8 on Pro, even for image and video generation. The main practical limits were usage caps – video generation stopped after five prompts on Plus and reset after 24 hours – whereas Pro doubles that limit. Plus still includes Gemini Live, Notebooks, document and photo uploads, and the ability to choose thinking levels. The author concludes that for most everyday tasks the Plus tier delivers sufficient performance at a lower cost, reserving Pro for heavy media creation or larger storage needs.

## Key points

- Google One AI Pro costs $20/month and includes 5 TB storage, Task (formerly Spark) and Flash 3.8 model.
- AI Plus retains Flash model, Gemini Live, Notebooks, 2 TB storage, but loses Task and Argon, and video limit hits after five prompts.
- Author found no noticeable quality gap between Flash and Flash 3.8 for everyday image and video generation.

## Why it matters

The tier reshuffle changes cost and feature access for millions of Google One users, influencing adoption of Gemini and cloud storage decisions.
