## Summary

Percepto, an autonomous drone inspection provider based in Israel and Texas, launched **Axion**, a software-first AI platform designed to unify data from third-party drones and sensors. The move follows leadership changes led by Julien Bellanger, who succeeded Dor Abuhasira, shifting the company’s focus from hardware to AI-driven analytics for critical infrastructure like oil and gas, power grids, and processing facilities.

Axion ingests data from multiple sources—drones, fixed sensors, and legacy archives—and applies over **160 AI models** to detect issues like downed wires or thermal anomalies. Operators can query findings using plain-language prompts via an LLM, with results validated by historical data and expert insights. The platform operates as **software-as-a-service**, avoiding vendor lock-in while leveraging Percepto’s **compliance waivers** for autonomous drone operations. Manufacturing for its drone fleet will remain onshore in the U.S. under the American Drone Dominance Initiative.

## Key points

- Percepto’s Axion platform analyzes drone and sensor data from any third-party hardware for infrastructure inspections
- Over 160 AI models detect issues like downed wires or thermal anomalies with historical validation
- Operators can query findings via plain-language prompts using an internal LLM

## Why it matters

Axion could reduce maintenance costs for industries reliant on drone inspections by consolidating data from disparate sources into actionable insights, but its success hinges on adoption beyond Percepto’s existing drone fleet.
