## Summary

Razer has released the Basilisk V4 Pro, an update to its all-around gaming mouse line that introduces a dedicated AI prompt button. The mouse features Razer's Focus Pro 50K Gen-3 optical sensor, supporting up to 50,000 DPI and 930 IPS, along with Gen-4 optical switches rated for over 100 million clicks. It offers three connectivity options: 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth, and wired USB-C.

The device weighs 3.53 ounces (100g), making it lighter than the previous V3 Pro 35K. Battery life is rated at 200 hours at a 1,000 Hz polling rate, dropping to 54 hours at 8,000 Hz. The mouse includes 12 programmable buttons, with the new third thumb button defaulting to open Razer's AI prompt tool. Tom's Hardware notes that this button placement disrupts the thumb rest harmony, pushing other buttons out of comfortable reach.

Priced at $169.99, the mouse launched alongside the Mouse Dock V2 Pro, a separate wireless charging dock with an integrated 8,000 Hz receiver costing $69.99. While the hardware specs are strong, the review highlights that the AI feature feels forced into the ergonomic design, and the extra button on the left side is positioned too far forward for comfortable use.
