The session, themed “The Next 10 Years Shaped by AI: The Enterprise’s Choice,” brought together presidents and top leaders from Samsung’s electronics, finance and biotechnology affiliates to explore how AI could reshape corporate decision‑making, management and leadership.\n\nThe meeting follows Samsung’s broader AI push that began in June, when the company started rolling out generative AI tools across research, manufacturing, marketing and administrative functions. Since that launch Samsung has trained about 2,300 executives and plans to finish AI training for all employees by February 2027. In June OpenAI announced that Samsung Electronics will deploy ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex for staff in South Korea and its global Device eXperience division, marking one of the largest enterprise rollouts of OpenAI’s services.\n\nThe gathering also underscored a deepening partnership that started with a October 2025 letter of intent to supply advanced memory chips for OpenAI’s Stargate project and has expanded to AI data‑center initiatives and floating offshore data‑center concepts involving Samsung SDS, Samsung C&T and Samsung Heavy Industries.","keyPoints":["About 50 Samsung senior executives met OpenAI CEO Sam Altman on Saturday at Samsung’s Human Resources Development Center.","Samsung has trained about 2,300 executives since June and aims to finish AI training for all employees by February 2027.","In June OpenAI announced Samsung Electronics will roll out ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex to South Korean staff and its global Device eXperience division."],"whyItMatters":"The meeting signals Samsung’s deepening AI partnership with OpenAI, accelerating enterprise AI adoption across its conglomerate and showcasing one of the largest corporate deployments of ChatGPT Enterprise, which could set a benchmark for AI integration in large multinational firms.","category":{"slug":"enterprise","name":"Enterprise & Industry","url":"https://digestai.news/category/enterprise"},"entities":{"companies":["Samsung Group","Samsung Electronics","Samsung SDS","Samsung C&T","Samsung Heavy Industries","OpenAI"],"models":["ChatGPT Enterprise","Codex"],"people":["Sam Altman","Lee Jae-yong"]},"firstPublishedAt":"2026-10-30T18:13:00Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-30T19:45:00Z","sourceCount":2,"hasPrimarySource":false,"sources":[{"outlet":"koreaherald.com","title":"Samsung executives meet OpenAI's Altman to discuss AI strategy","url":"https://koreaherald.com/article/10921312","publishedAt":"2026-10-30T18:13:00Z","type":"press","primary":false,"lead":true},{"outlet":"straitstimes.com","title":"OpenAI’s Altman meets Samsung executives as chip crunch deepens","url":"https://straitstimes.com/business/openais-altman-meets-samsung-executives-as-chip-crunch-deepens","publishedAt":"2026-10-30T19:45:00Z","type":"press","primary":false,"lead":false}],"sourceNotes":null,"discussions":[],"thread":null,"cite":{"text":"Digest AI, \"Samsung executives meet OpenAI CEO Sam Altman to discuss AI strategy\", 30 October 2026, https://digestai.news/story/samsung-executives-meet-openai-ceo-sam-altman-to-discuss-ai-strategy","publisher":"Digest AI","title":"Samsung executives meet OpenAI CEO Sam Altman to discuss AI strategy","datePublished":"2026-10-30T18:13:00Z","url":"https://digestai.news/story/samsung-executives-meet-openai-ceo-sam-altman-to-discuss-ai-strategy"},"generatedBy":"Written by Digest AI's editorial model from the linked sources; the sources are the record.","license":"Headlines, digests and key points are written by Digest AI and may be quoted with a link to the story page.
