## Summary

Sega announced it is removing Total War: Shogun 2 — Complete Edition from all digital storefronts after the Tuesday launch drew heavy criticism. Players reported bugs and visual upscaling that appears to have been generated by AI, leading to an “Overwhelmingly Negative” rating on Steam, where the title was also pulled.

In a joint statement, Sega and developer Creative Assembly said the edition fell short of both player expectations and the companies’ own standards. They promised to reinstate the original, un‑remastered version of the game and confirmed that existing owners will still be able to access the Complete Edition. A studio named Mataboo is listed as a developer on Steam and highlights its work on the project on its website.

The companies said they are working with their development partner to identify the causes, deliver improvements, and bring the remaster up to the quality standards expected from the Total War franchise.
