## Summary

WhatsApp is rolling out a feature that lets Android beta testers create custom-named chats with Meta AI, complete with custom profile pictures. The update, reported by WABetaInfo, allows users to start a new AI chat from the overflow menu, assign a name and image, and find it directly in the chat list. A new filter groups all AI chats together. The feature builds on earlier threads introduced this year to organize Meta AI conversations by topic, now turning them into standalone chats to avoid menu navigation. It is currently limited to some beta testers using WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.26.44.6 from the Google Play Store.

## Key points

- WhatsApp lets Android beta testers create custom-named Meta AI chats with custom profile pictures
- Chats appear directly in the chat list and can be filtered together via a new AI chat filter
- Feature is limited to some beta testers using WhatsApp beta for Android 2.26.44.6 from Google Play Store

## Why it matters

The update improves usability of Meta AI in WhatsApp by making frequent AI conversations easier to access and organize, reducing friction for users who rely on AI for tasks like planning or recipes.
