## Summary

YouTube is rolling out a **‘Made with AI’** label for songs altered or fully generated with AI, starting today in the YouTube Music app. The label applies to tracks where AI tools created compositions or vocals, though not all AI-assisted music will be tagged. YouTube says it will use detection tools and partner disclosures to identify AI-generated content, with more details available when users tap the label.

The move follows similar efforts by Spotify, Apple Music, and others. Spotify introduced a voluntary AI label earlier this year, while Apple Music is reportedly adding its own tag. Deezer lets users filter out AI tracks, and Bandcamp banned AI-generated music entirely. YouTube’s label expands to the main app later, aiming to give listeners transparency about AI’s role in music.

## Key points

- ‘Made with AI’ labels appear on tracks where AI created compositions or vocals, starting in YouTube Music today
- YouTube uses detection tools and partner disclosures to identify AI-generated songs, with no disclosure risking manual review
- Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, and Bandcamp have introduced AI-related music labels or filters in 2026

## Why it matters

The label helps listeners distinguish AI-generated music, addressing concerns about transparency and authenticity in streaming platforms. It could influence how artists and labels disclose AI use, potentially shaping industry standards.
