## Summary

Zapier’s blog reviewed five AI-powered project management tools after testing them for a month. The picks focus on team use, automation, and core project management features rather than generic AI text tools. Half of project managers surveyed handle at least 26 daily requests, and 42% spend 6–15 minutes organizing each incoming task, making AI-driven efficiency a priority.

The top tools include **Asana** for AI teammates like a Chief of Staff and specialized agents (e.g., Insights Analyst, Work Intake Specialist), **ClickUp** for AI agents and interactive Artifacts (e.g., landing pages), **Wrike** for risk prediction via machine learning, **Motion** for calendar-native project scheduling, and **Hive** for free AI features (1,000 monthly credits). Asana’s AI agents integrate with external data via MCP, while Wrike’s risk alerts use workload and task trends. Motion’s AI reshuffles tasks based on calendar conflicts, and Hive’s Buzz assistant creates projects or summarizes tasks. Pricing ranges from free (Hive) to $29/user/month (Motion Pro).

## Key points

- Asana’s AI agents (e.g., Dash, Insights Analyst) act as workspace teammates with customizable skills and MCP integrations
- Hive offers 1,000 free AI credits/month for tasks like project creation or risk flagging, enough for ~10–12 days of heavy use
- Wrike predicts project risks using task activity trends and assigns color-coded urgency alerts to leaders

## Why it matters

Teams managing high volumes of tasks (e.g., 26+ daily requests) can automate repetitive work, predict bottlenecks, and reduce coordination overhead. AI agents and risk alerts save time without replacing human oversight, while free-tier options like Hive lower barriers for small teams.
