Lectra Launches Apogy, Agentic AI for Fashion Product Development

Unite.AI · 15 September 2026

Lectra on September 15, 2026 announced the launch of Apogy, a cloud-based solution that embeds agentic artificial intelligence in fashion product development, the phase between garment design and production. Irish sportswear brand O’Neills and international fashion group Oniverse are among its early customers.

Lectra describes Apogy as a single digital environment that brings together the data, processes and stakeholders involved in developing a product. According to the company, the software automates low-value tasks and makes information and expertise easier to access, so that teams can concentrate on innovation, creativity and strategic decision-making.

Deputy CEO Maximilien Abadie said the launch is intended to break down silos across the fashion ecosystem. “With Apogy, we are launching the first and only solution designed to bring together all involved parties, data and processes that shape a product,” he said. Abadie said agentic AI allows fashion companies to develop desirable, manufacturable products that meet consumer demand more quickly, turning product data into a competitive advantage.

Lectra sets the launch against an industry backdrop of volatile demand, ever-shorter collection cycles and mounting regulatory and environmental pressures. The company says it established a global standard for fashion-industry computer-aided design nearly half a century ago, and it describes its products Modaris, ModarisPGS and Gerber AccuMark as global industry benchmarks.

Agentic AI Across the Development Cycle

According to Lectra, the agentic AI at the core of Apogy assists teams in decision-making, automates and accelerates development work, and orchestrates tasks while drawing on the appropriate data. The company says a new generation of intelligent agents supports teams throughout the development cycle, from the initial idea to an industrialization-ready prototype.

Teams can generate and explore new concepts from prompts, sketches or images and collaborate in real time in a shared environment with full traceability of changes. Lectra says Apogy is compatible with all standard market formats, streamlines digital prototyping and supports approvals through 3D simulations and photorealistic renderings.

On Lectra’s Apogy product page, the company breaks the platform into four AI-native components, cites more than 50 years of product development experience and reports a 30% reduction in product development time. Named capabilities include Generative Designer, which produces photo-realistic design proposals from a prompt, sketch or image, and digital twins that unify and synchronize 2D patterns, 3D virtual samples, fabrics, components and specifications into a single digital product.

For physical prototyping, the company says Apogy automatically generates prototype markers, while its Art Print function generates digital marker files for RIP servers directly from patterns that carry artwork. Patternmakers can search existing product data to find starting points for new developments, create and adjust 2D patterns in a shared environment and estimate material consumption earlier in the process. A separate artwork workflow applies and grades artwork across multiple linked pattern pieces.

A real-time visibility function provides analytical data that Lectra says can balance workloads, solve bottlenecks and keep deadlines on track from top management to operations, while a Brand DNA function supports knowledge sharing between expert and newer patternmakers and accelerates onboarding through built-in guidance. The company also states that Apogy has completed a SOC 2 Type 1 attestation, conducted by an independent auditor against the AICPA Trust Services Criteria.

Early Customers and SaaS Delivery

Apogy centralizes product development data in what Lectra describes as a single, secure, shared and continuously updated source, allowing teams, partners and suppliers across the ecosystem to collaborate simultaneously. The company says this speeds up approval and production stages.

O’Neills, an Irish sportswear brand, is already using the platform. “For the first time in our history, we are all using the same solution,” said David Towell, Deputy Managing Director of O’Neills. “It has removed exporting and importing errors, improved transparency across the company and will enable us to work faster, increase productivity and efficiency, and help us scale.”

Oniverse, the international fashion group whose brands include Calzedonia, Intimissimi and Tezenis, is another early adopter. Operations Director Riccardo Romani said younger generations expect to work with advanced tools, and that equipping teams with an AI-native solution strengthens the group’s ability to attract, develop and retain talent in patternmaking and modeling roles.

Lectra says Apogy also reduces dependence on a small number of experts by preserving and disseminating key know-how inside organizations. The product is the result of three years of development and dialogue with several dozen customers, according to the company, and is delivered as software as a service, with Lectra saying it will continue to expand Apogy’s AI capabilities to automate more tasks and enhance workflows.

Company Background and Reveal Events

Lectra supplies software, cutting equipment, data and services to customers in the fashion, automotive and furniture industries. Listed on Euronext, the group reported revenues of €507 million in 2025, including €89 million in SaaS revenues. The launch release appears in English, French and Italian on Lectra’s official press page, which dates the announcement September 15, 2026.

Alongside the launch, Lectra is running a reveal digital event titled “Break the Pattern with Apogy,” with separate EMEA and Americas sessions open for registration through the product page. According to the event listing, the sessions cover the challenges facing product development teams and presentations from early adopters Oniverse and O’Neills.
