Anthropic Launches Claude for Financial Advisors With Partner Connectors
Unite.AI · 14 September 2026
Anthropic on September 14, 2026 released Claude for Financial Advisors, a plugin that bundles connectors to custodians, asset managers, and wealth-technology providers with workflow skills built around an advisor’s daily work. The plugin is available to Enterprise customers through the Cowork plugin browser.
Connectors Across Custody, Portfolio Data, and CRM
Anthropic described the release as a suite of connectors and workflow skills aimed at the research, preparation, and documentation tasks that occupy an advisor’s time. The connectors let Claude work with a client’s information in one place, while the skills apply that information to tasks such as meeting preparation, portfolio analysis, and compliance checks. The announcement cited Kitces research finding that a typical advisory practice spends only a sixth of its time in client meetings, and EBRI’s 2026 Retirement Confidence Survey, in which more than four in 10 American workers said they do not know who to go to for financial or retirement planning advice.
According to the announcement, Charles Schwab’s integration gives Claude access to Schwab Advisor Services custodial data: balances, positions, transactions, cost basis, alerts, and money-movement status. BlackRock’s connector delivers model portfolios and institutional analytics through its Advisor Center, and Vanguard’s adds information on its model portfolios and advisor investment solutions.
Addepar’s integration provides governed access across public and private markets to portfolio data, analytics, and workflows. iCapital surfaces a client’s alternative investment holdings, including NAV, commitments, unfunded capital, recent capital activity, and performance, alongside the client’s broader portfolio.
Envestnet’s connector produces natural-language summaries of Tamarac accounts and households, paired with a financial plan snapshot from MoneyGuide. Orion’s supplies portfolio reporting and Redtail CRM insights for household reviews, opportunity analysis, and meeting preparation and follow-up. SS&C Black Diamond adds portfolio, performance, holdings, and rebalancing data; advisors can use it to review their book, identify clients outside tolerance, and surface tax-loss harvesting opportunities, with client reports, tasks, and rebalance sessions generated with the advisor’s approval.
Wealthbox links client records and meeting history, supporting onboarding, meeting preparation, and follow-up. Wealth.com provides a structured view of each client’s estate and tax position, including trust and will summaries, tax-return insights, and the full balance sheet. Zocks, an AI meeting assistant for advisors, supplies client intelligence captured from conversations, including profiles, goals, life events, and commitments.
The new connectors join existing Claude connectors that include Microsoft 365, Salesforce, DocuSign, Box, FactSet, S&P Global, and Morningstar. The plugin itself works with BlackRock, Charles Schwab, Addepar, Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, Wealthbox, Wealth.com, and Zocks, and advisors choose which of these to connect during guided setup. BlackRock is also launching its own Advisor Center plugin, joining existing plugins from S&P Global and LSEG.
Skills Built Around the Advisor Workday
The plugin ships skills that each support a specific moment in an advisor’s day, from preparing for a client meeting to explaining a drifted portfolio. Firms can adopt the skills as published from Anthropic’s skill repository or adapt them to their own workflows, service model, and house style.
An onboarding skill connects a firm’s tools and runs first-meeting preparation automatically, which Anthropic said is intended to make a new advisor productive on day one. An alternative-investments brief assembles a household’s alternative holdings from iCapital or Addepar into a meeting-ready summary displayed with the rest of the portfolio. An estate-and-tax brief compares a client’s estate plan with actual account titling and beneficiaries, reviews the prior year’s taxes, and can create CRM follow-up tasks so mismatches reach the advisor. A portfolio-rebalance review identifies drift and concentrated positions relative to a client’s target allocation and produces a first-draft explanation the advisor would otherwise write from scratch.
A post-meeting skill converts a transcript into a client summary, a recap email, and CRM tasks in a single pass. A pre-meeting preparation skill pulls a client’s holdings, recent account activity, and open items from prior meetings out of connected systems into one brief. A prospect-intake skill turns what a prospect shares into a summary, an analyst handoff, and a what-to-expect memo. A compliance and AI-policy skill flags content that may warrant additional compliance review under user-configured criteria, helps firms document review workflows, and supports AI-governance documentation.
Anthropic said the skills together gather information, summarize it, and draft client communications, while investment recommendations, client communications, compliance determinations, and other regulated activities remain subject to human review and approval.
Compliance and Recordkeeping Controls
Anthropic said the product is designed so the advisor stays in control, with approval required on critical tasks: Claude prepares briefs, summaries, and draft analyses for advisor review and stages administrative actions such as CRM updates and draft client communications for approval. The compliance skill screens client-facing language against the SEC Marketing Rule to flag potential issues and includes a self-guided AI-policy workflow that helps firms document their use of AI under SEC rules. Workflow activities can be documented to assist firms in maintaining records and oversight processes. Anthropic recommends Enterprise plans for registered investment advisers because they include the audit logs that support recordkeeping.
When Claude handles administrative tasks such as meeting preparation, follow-up drafts, and pipeline review, advisors can spend more of their time serving clients, and practices can expand their customer base and offer services such as tax, estate, insurance, and retirement planning, Anthropic said.
Partner Statements and Availability
Partners and customers supplied statements alongside the release. Jaime Magyera, head of BlackRock’s US wealth and retirement businesses, said the work with Anthropic makes the firm’s portfolio analytics more accessible to advisors. Jon Beatty, head of Schwab Advisor Services, said the collaboration reflects Schwab’s commitment to helping registered investment advisors adopt innovation within the tools they already use. Ritholtz CEO Josh Brown said in the announcement: “Claude for Financial Advisors is the first thing I’ve seen that sits on top of the whole stack and does that work across it, with the compliance controls we need built in.”
Firms with an Enterprise license can install the plugin from the Cowork plugin browser and follow guided setup to connect their tools. Firms without a license can request one through a form, and firms that request a new license before the end of September 2026 will receive a one-time usage credit. Anthropic will host a webinar on the product on September 18, 2026 at 11AM ET.
