Claude Code Price List | A Solo CEO's Measurement of Letting AI Handle Documents While Keeping Pricing Centralized
Claude Code Price List | A Solo CEO's Measurement Before letting AI handle my documents, I decided on one single place to keep the prices. I do not let the AI think about the prices itself. This article does not contain settings or procedures. What it does contain is the line I drew between what I do and what the AI does regarding pricing documents, the count I made this morning, and a list…
Key points
- The CEO decided to keep pricing in a single place for consistency
- Claude Code follows instructions not to think about pricing itself
- There are seven areas where the CEO decides, out of eight
Deciding on one place for pricing before letting AI handle it
My company has several documents that include pricing. When a client asks about prices, I write the amount in an email and attach the document. Most of this work is well-suited for AI. Formatting documents. Copying fixed tables into emails. Compressing large files to a size that can be attached to emails. These are all tasks that are the same every time. However, there is one thing I decided beforehand. I set one single place to keep the prices. Claude Code has a memo that it reads before starting work. The pricing is written in only one place in that memo. Whether creating a document or writing an email, the AI looks there and copies it. I have written instructions for the AI not to think of and set the prices itself. This is because if the AI were to calculate prices every time it created a document, different prices might appear for different documents, making it impossible to know which one is the current price.
What the AI does (4 types)
When asked about pricing, copy the table from the notes into the body of an email When creating documents that include pricing, use the amounts from the notes as they are Resize documents containing pricing to a size that can be attached to an email When prices change, update both the notes and the documents
What I decide (7 areas)
Which services to include and which to exclude Monthly fees for new services Pricing for bundled requests Contract duration Whether or not to lower the price Whether to receive payment in a lump sum Whether or not to offer a discount
Is it easy for the other party to request? For example, I had the AI list options for the price when requested in bulk. But I was the one who decided, 'That's fine.' The notes say that I decided it. For discounts, I didn't write an amount in the notes. It just says, 'I will decide at the negotiation table.' This is so that I don't let the AI handle things that cannot be decided in advance.
Drawing the line based on promises to the other party
Copying the table into an email is just copying an already decided amount. Therefore, I hand it over to the AI. New prices and discounts become promises to the other party. I am the one who makes the promises.
