Napster partners with Gems Education to create AI teacher twins in Dubai

The first proof‑of‑concept will run at the Gems School of Research and Innovation, where the Gems Global Education AI Hub and Gems Intelligence 360 platform will host the pilots. Napster will provide design, development and product‑management resources, while local partners such as G42, Lenovo and Detasad will host data and run models in‑country, supporting the UAE’s goal to move 50 % of government services to agentic AI within two years. Samuel Huber, former founder of Landvault and now Napster’s Middle East and Africa CEO, said the regional team is about 20 people and is planned to grow to roughly 500 by 2030.

Huber emphasized that the digital twins are meant to augment teachers, not replace them, and that student data will stay within the UAE and will not be used to train Napster’s models. The partnership also includes backing from Kameha Ventures, a Dubai venture platform led by Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mana Bin Khalifa Saeed Al Maktoum, to help localise the offering.
